Brenda works with orphans who without this organization would not have a roof over their
heads, enough food to eat or an education.

    Personal Greeting

Malachi 3:3 says: 'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'
This verse was sent to me by a friend right after Paula and Colleen left Namibia.  As the silversmith holds the silver in the fire watching it all the time so does God watch us as we sit in the fire throughout our lives.  The silversmith knows when the silver is refined when he can see his image it in!!  This message of love was sent to me to remind me that when I am feeling the heat of the fire I am promised that God has His eye on me and will keep watching me until He sees His image in me!  Praise God for that.  As a ministry we are moving ahead as a team working together to give God honor in all that we do.  Our meetings with Paula and Colleen were revealing, difficult, soul bearing and God honoring.  All of us are grateful for the prayer cover that is given us each day.  I know I have said it before and I will say it again one of the most important lessons I have learned in Africa is the power of prayer!! Your partnership is critical to us and I thank you for your faithfulness!

    What’s Next?

To say we are on a fast track is an understatement.  There is so much lying ahead of us – including the building of Talitha-Kumi.  The land for the kindergarten and pre-primary was fenced in February and the playground has begun.  Our time line is to have this building complete by the end of April.  Nan has her hands full training our teachers.  An approach that represents the excellence that God demands of us is not easily transferred.  We are discussing the need to have fulltime, volunteer teachers from America to come for a year at a time to work along side our local teachers so that there can be modeling.  With the work of a social worker who is assisting us to face “some” of the issues of our children and families we find ourselves with great opportunity and great challenge.  Sylvia has been given the opportunity through the radio to address Rehoboth on a daily basis.  God is using this venue to share His Word and to open up opportunity for His people to grow spiritually.  We have individuals and teams who will begin arriving starting in May this year and going through October.  The Graham family have arrived in Namibia and are expected in Arandis the first week of March.  We will take the first 4-6 weeks to get to know each other and to discern God’s plan for them through HPOMN.

     Specific Needs

I just received a call from the children at The Ark who wanted to tell me that every day by request of Stephanus they are praying for me!! Oh, how God uses prayer.  Ms. Wanda has begun small groups with the HPOMN children tackling the topic of loss and grief.  Please pray for God’s protection and healing on the children.  Adisha is the newest member of the Hope’s family – pray for her transition. Pray that the registration of the school will come right.  I have still not received current work papers and am therefore unable to leave the country!  Pray for God to open doors.  As the Namibian Board and the Colorado Board work together to continue serving God in excellence may God Himself be the focus!

    Thanksgivings

We are so grateful for the servant heart of Ms. Lea who was with us from August through mid-February.  As she served as a teacher, confidante, friend, activity organizer, co-parent and sister we are left with many empty hats.  God used this young woman as an example for young and old alike.  As a ministry we have been greatly blessed by the heart and understanding of Lea.  May God bless her!  In February we welcomed returning volunteers Don and Jackie.  This is the third trip for each of them so they pretty much fall into place helping out in many different areas of the ministry.   Don pictured above is the work behind our website for Namibia!  We remain grateful to God for the many folks who have come, are here and will come!  Katharina, Miguel, Timna and Mara visited in Swakopmund for holiday so Hailey and I had a blessed afternoon with them.  Katharina and her family remain in Angola serving the church through YfC Angola.  She sends her greetings to all of you who know her!  Thank you for your continued prayer.  God honors your prayers and in doing so brings us through the storms!!

    Personal Prayer Request

Trials and tribulations and times in the fire are a part of our journey! God wants to purify us for service to Him!  May I be a willing piece of silver in His hands as He fires me to purity in different areas of my life!  To God be the glory!!

    From Africa with love, Brenda
